- 1 cup mayonnaise, adds richness and depth
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded for best melt
- 1 cup pepper jack cheese, shredded, for a subtle kick
- 1 cup cooked ground sausage, mild or spicy, fully browned and crumbled
- 1 (4-ounce) can diced green chiles, drained well
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, for savory depth
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika, adds warmth and smokiness
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional), for heat
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional garnish)
- Crackers, tortilla chips, or sliced bread, for serving
Instructions
- Heat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly coat a medium baking dish or cast-iron skillet with cooking spray or butter.
- Brown the Sausage: Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks. Once fully browned, drain off any excess fat and set aside.
- Create the Creamy Base: In a large bowl, blend the softened cream cheese with the sour cream and mayonnaise until smooth and well combined.
- Build the Dip: Stir in the shredded cheddar, pepper jack, cooked sausage, drained green chiles, Worcestershire sauce, and all seasonings. Mix until everything is evenly distributed.
- Bake Until Bubbly: Spoon the mixture into your prepared dish and smooth the top. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until hot throughout and lightly golden on the surface.
- Serve Warm: Remove from the oven, sprinkle with chopped parsley if using, and serve immediately with your favorite chips, crackers, or bread slices.
