Description

This peanut butter mousse is light, fluffy, and unbelievably creamy, yet it comes together with minimal effort. With just four simple ingredients and a few minutes of mixing, you’ll have a rich, airy dessert that feels indulgent without the sugar overload.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter (see tips below)
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup powdered sweetener or confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Add the peanut butter, softened cream cheese, powdered sweetener, and vanilla (if using) to a large bowl. Beat with a hand or stand mixer until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until it forms firm peaks and holds its shape.
  3. Scoop about one-quarter of the whipped cream into the peanut butter mixture and gently mix to loosen it.
  4. Carefully fold in half of the remaining whipped cream until mostly combined, then fold in the rest until the mousse is light and uniform.
  5. Spoon or pipe the mousse into serving glasses, jars, or bowls. Serve immediately for a soft texture, or chill for at least 30 minutes for a thicker, more set mousse

Notes

Helpful Tips & Variations

  • Smooth almond butter or tahini can be used in place of peanut butter for a different flavor.
  • For extra depth, add ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract while mixing the base.
  • To keep the recipe sugar-free or keto-friendly, use a powdered low-carb sweetener instead of regular powdered sugar.
  • Suggested serving size is about ½ cup per portion.

Storage Instructions

  • Refrigerator: Store the mousse covered in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
  • Freezer: Freeze in an airtight container for up to 6 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving for best texture.
