  • Total Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 French bread loaf (16 oz)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped parsley
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan
  • 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Shredded mozzarella (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to broil or 500°F.
  2. Cut the French bread loaf in half horizontally. Then, cut each half in half again vertically, giving you 4 pieces.
  3. In a small bowl, combine butter with parsley, garlic, Parmesan, salt, black pepper, and oregano.
  4. Generously spread the butter mixture over each piece. If you like, add shredded mozzarella on top.
  5. Place the pieces on a baking tray and pop them in the oven.
  6. Broil for a few minutes, approximately 3 to 6 minutes. Keep a close eye on it as it can quickly burn under the broiler. Once the top is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly, take it out of the oven.
  7. Slice diagonally or across into small pieces and serve.

Notes

For extra crispy garlic bread, bake it at 350°F until golden (about 10 minutes) and then add cheese on top. Broil until the cheese bubbles.
