These treats are so easy to make and incredibly tasty, perfect for getting into the Halloween spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Forget the hassle of caramel apples \u2013 our dark chocolate-covered apple slices are a delightful, kid-friendly snack or light dessert. They&#8217;re way easier to make (and eat!) and can be personalized with your favorite toppings. It&#8217;s the ideal after-school fall treat!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--WPRM Recipe 31512-->\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe\">\n\t<h2 class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-name\">Chocolate Covered Apple Slices<\/h2>\n\t\t<p class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-summary\">\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-equipment\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-ingredients\">\n\t\t<ul><li>4 apples (sliced about \u00bc&#8221; thick (Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, Fuji, etc))<\/li><li>12 oz dark chocolate (melted)<\/li><li>1 tbsp coconut oil (optional)<\/li><li>Topping ideas: caramel (chopped nuts, seeds, sprinkles, coconut, crushed cookies, mini chocolate chips, flaky salt, dried fruit, candy, graham cracker crumbs, mini marshmallows, etc.)<\/li><\/ul>\t<\/div>\n\t<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n\t\t<ol><li>Wash and thoroughly dry the apples. Slice them into thin-ish (\u00bc&#8221;) slices and remove any seeds or stems. Insert popsicle sticks through the bottom. If the slices are too thin, do a test trial before slicing all your apples to avoid breakage.<\/li><li>Put chopped chocolate (or chocolate chips) in a heat-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each, until completely melted. Optionally, add 1 tablespoon of coconut oil to thin it out for easier dipping.<\/li><li>Dip each apple slice in chocolate, using a spoon to coat the entire slice. Allow excess chocolate to drip off, then transfer to a parchment paper-lined tray.<\/li><li>Add dry toppings like nuts, cookies, sprinkles, chocolate chips, or coconut right away. Refrigerate or freeze until solid. For toppings like caramel or peanut butter, let the chocolate harden first before adding.
