The Best Garlic Bread
Ingredients
- 1 French bread loaf 16 oz
- 1 cup unsalted butter room temperature
- 1/4 cup finely chopped parsley
- 2 1/2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan
- 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Shredded mozzarella optional
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to broil or 500°F.
- Cut the French bread loaf in half horizontally. Then, cut each half in half again vertically, giving you 4 pieces.
- In a small bowl, combine butter with parsley, garlic, Parmesan, salt, black pepper, and oregano.
- Generously spread the butter mixture over each piece. If you like, add shredded mozzarella on top.
- Place the pieces on a baking tray and pop them in the oven.
- Broil for a few minutes, approximately 3 to 6 minutes. Keep a close eye on it as it can quickly burn under the broiler. Once the top is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly, take it out of the oven.
- Slice diagonally or across into small pieces and serve.
Notes
For extra crispy garlic bread, bake it at 350°F until golden (about 10 minutes) and then add cheese on top. Broil until the cheese bubbles.
